Hi all, I am new to this forum so apologies if these topics have been raised before.
1) I am coming to Namibia next month , but am becoming increasingly anxious re scams and safety issues I have been reading about on other forums particularly the issue of vehicle tyres being deflated whilst in a gas station , petrol pumps not starting at zero so receiving less fuel and being overcharged . Has anyone experienced this ? Tips to avoid this happening to us would be appreciated.
Should I stay out of the vehicle rather than remaining in the passenger seat in the hope that this might stop nefarious activity ?
Likewise , at a supermarket should someone remain with the vehicle , and stand outside it ?
2) Is using Google Maps the best way to plan travel between stops ? How accurate are their travel times ?
3) Finally , how much water should we carry in the car at any given time ? Maximum time camping will be 3 days without accessing a supermarket.
Thank you all in advance for any advice . I'll be spending a lot of time on this forum !
