Tembe Elephant Park

Hallo allerseits,

bereits zum 2. Mal bekomme ich ein Angebot von der Tembe community, den Bau einer Unterkunft in bzw. an der Grenze zum Kosi lakes Naturreservat mit zu finanzieren. Vielleicht hat sich ja bereits jemand damit auseinander gesetzt. Mit einem einmaligen Betrag von 3100€ kann man die nächsten 5 Jahre für 2 Personen 23 Tage in in der Tembe Elephant Lodge übernachten mit den üblichen Konditionen ( VB, gamedrives...) dieses Angebot nutzen.
Ich habe keine Ahnung was man davon halten soll. Wobei ich -wenn schon- das Ganze sicher nicht auf 5 Jahre ausdehnen würde sondern u.U. in einem Rutsch verbrauchen würde. Wie und was genau könnte ich auch über die angegebene Kontakt Adresse erfahren. Ich würde aber vorher schon gerne wissen, was es generell mit solchen Angeboten auf sich hat. Falls ähnliches anderswo in SA üblich ist hoffe ich auf die Viel -und Selbstfahrer, dass mi vielleicht jemand Auskunft geben kann.
Ich würde mich sehr über eine Antwort freuen.

Wie definierst du die "Tembe community"? Wer macht dir das Angebot genau?
Und wie kommen die auf dich? Warst du mal da?
Und was genau soll da gebaut werden? Eine Lodge? "An der Grenze zum Kosi Lakes Naturreservat" ist natuerlich ein weiter Begriff...

Wie und was genau könnte ich auch über die angegebene Kontakt Adresse erfahren. Ich würde aber vorher schon gerne wissen, was es generell mit solchen Angeboten auf sich hat.

Dann mach das doch mal, denn ohne zu wissen wie und was genau kann dir auch keiner sagen was es damit auf sich hat!

More about Kozi Bay:
The lakes form part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The closest town is Manguzi, some 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) away. Kosi Bay estuary is only 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the Mozambique border. It is possible to walk from the estuary to Ponta do Ouro in only an hour or so. It is one of the quietest beaches in South Africa. The Kosi River Mouth is known as "the aquarium" because of the clarity of the water and the abundance of fish species.

Bird species in the area include the palm-nut vulture, Pel's fishing owl, white-backed night-heron, and kingfishers. Duiker, hippopotamus, crocodiles and bull sharks are also present, and loggerhead and endangered leatherback sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach. Whale watching to target mainly humpback whales and dolphins is a growing industry in Kosi Bay region.

The Kosi palm has the largest leaf of any plant. Endemic species include the Kosi cycad and Kosi fern. It is one of very few places on earth where five different species of mangrove trees are found in one area. Kosi Bay is particularly famous for the traditional Tsonga fish traps built to trap fish moving in and out of the estuary with the tide. The Tsonga people, who have made this land their home for more than 1000 years, are experts in fish traps and the construction of fishkraal. Kosi Bay is the cultural capital of the ancient Tsonga Tembe kingdom.

leider kann ich dir nicht direkt weiterhelfen aber hast du Dir schon mal überlegt was passiert wenn der Laden insolvent wird?
Also bei mir wäre diese Mail direkt gelöscht worden.

ich würde mal nach dem "Kleingedruckten" fragen. Sicher kannst Du die Nächte z.B. nur in Nebensaisons nutzen etc. Ansonsten ist das Konzept nichts neues. Ein Risiko besteht natürlich immer (z.B. Pleite von Tembe... aber die gibt es ja schon länger).

Nur wie die auf 40% Ersparnis kommen:
3100 Euro = 23 Nächte, d.h. 1 Nacht = 134 Euro
Momentan zahlst Du je nach Saison (im Doppelzimmer) pro Person R1350-2000, d.h. 80-120 Euro/Nacht...
