Da gibt es ganz viel Safari. Für den Pöbel gibt es derzeit den heruntergekommenen und vollkommen überteuerten Zambezi National Park.
Für die edleren Menschen auf der Welt steht das Matetsi Gebiet zur Verfügung, neben einigen anderen Konzessionsgebieten.
Auf der öffentlichen Strecke Victoria Falls / Kazungula sieht man ganz oft mehr Wildlife als im Chobe.

Ich meinte natürlich die direkte Umgebung der Fälle. Matetsi ist ja eine ganz andere Baustelle.

Victoria Falls: The Smoke is Thundering Louder Than Ever in 2026
The Zambezi River is currently putting on a masterclass in raw power. After a couple of lean years that left many wondering if the "Smoke that Thunders" was losing its voice, Victoria Falls has returned with a vengeance. As of late March 2026, the flow at the Victoria Falls station has surged to a staggering 4,090 m³/s.
To put that into perspective, this time last year the flow was a modest 1,216 m³/s. In 2024, amidst a severe El Niño-induced drought, the river was struggling at under 900 m³/s. We are currently seeing nearly four times the volume of water compared to two years ago.
For those heading to the falls, the experience is transformative. The spray is so immense that it can be seen from kilometres away, and the roar is a physical vibration in the air. While the sheer volume of mist can make the Main Falls look like a wall of white, the view from the Eastern Cataract and the various viewpoints along the rainforest path is nothing short of spectacular.
With high water levels still moving down from Chavuma and Ngonye, we expect these peak conditions to hold well into May. It is a reminder of the incredible resilience of the Zambezi system and a "must-see" window for any overlander or adventure traveller currently in the region.
