Robert Knol is attempting to break the World Record: Caïro to Cape Town on a bicycle!
He's now between Nata & Maun 😄

On 24 January 2011 I will jump on my bike to cycle as fast as I can from Cairo (Egypt) to Cape Town (South Africa) crossing 10 different countries, a total of 11.200 km. It’s an attempt to break the world record; Guinness World Records has acknowledged this attempt officially. I am hoping to break the current world record, held by adventurer Ralph Tuijn. The current record is set on 80 days, 6 hours and 7 minutes.

Cycling? Yes, cycling; my second passion in life. I have experienced a lot of challenging cycling trips in the past 10 years. Cycling through Africa will involve bumping into unexpected obstacles, but I am eager to take on this physical and mental challenge – alone...
