The Kgalagadi Desert Classic Riverbed Cycle Challenge is due to take place from Union's End, 155km down the riverbed to Nossob, from 21-25 September next year. Nearly all 50 places for cyclists in the event have already been filled.

The suggested programme is as follows:
Fri 20 Sept Cyclists and support staff will make their own way to Twee Revieren Kgalagadi
Cyclists to bring own camping equipment
Dinner to be provided by Honorary Rangers ( HR's)
Meet and greet HR's and Trail brief by guides
Sat 21 sept Cyclists will drive their vehicles with guides through the park 350 kms up to Unions End ( Corner of Namibia, Botswana and SA)
Everyone to camp in the riverbed
Dinner provided by HR's
Sun 22 Sept Early Start 5:30
Groups of 10 cyclists will depart with their guide at 15 min intervals
Cycle 80 kms to Polentswa in riverbed without view of the road
Vehicles to be driven by support staff and HR's
Camp at Polenstwa picnic site
Dinner to be provided by HR's
Mon 23 Sept Early Start 5:30
Cycle 75 kms to Nossop camp in riverbed
Vehicles to be driven by support staff and HR's
Camp at Nossop camp
Dinner and awards to be presented by HR's
Tues 24 Sept Participants to make their own way home along public roads in the Kgalagadi
The cost for particpation in the trail is R4000 pp and includes the trails event, camping sites and evening meals.
