Nein, da es "highly confidential" aufgrund der ganzen hochrangigen Personen ist. Da der Gipfel aber Samstag noch ist, vermute ich nicht, dass es auf dem Weg vom Flughafen nach Windhoek Einschränkungen geben sollte. Zumindest nicht am Vormittag.

"Nichts Aufregendes" können wir leider nicht bestätigen. Wir wurden heute wiederholt auf dem Weg durch Windhoek nach Voigtland willkürlich und völlig sinnfrei wenige hundert Meter ums Karree umgeleitet, nur um immer wieder auf der B6 zu landen und erneut umgeleitet zu werden. Als wir uns erdreisteten, höflich nachfragen zu wollen, ob wir denn überhaupt Richtung Airport kommen könnten, wurde wahrhaftig das Gewehr auf uns gerichtet und wir übelst angebrüllt, wir sollten gefälligst tun wie angewiesen und keine Fragen stellen.
Genau so war es.

chrisanna8281 Beiträge · seit 201317. Aug. 2018 · Oha, das war sicher nicht nett 😗 . Heute morgen ist Robert Mugabe um den Präsidentenpalast immer wieder gesperrt. Am besten weitläufig umfahren oder Zeit mitbringen und warten, bis sie wieder frei gegeben ist. UND: In ganz Afrika ist es überhaupt keine gute Idee, auf bewaffnetes Militär oder bewaffnete Polizei zuzufahren/gehen, ohne eindeutig dazu aufgefordert zu werden 😮 😣 😵 . Angeschnauzt werden ist da noch harmlos 😉 Das Verständnis von Macht/Autorität und zu leistendem Gehorsam ist hier eine andere als in Europa.

The official opening of the 38th SADC Summit, Friday, 17 August 2018
Auas road is one of the busiest road in Windhoek, as it links the capital to its southern suburb and Rehoboth. There will be tied security around the venue. Its expected for all motorist using this road to be patience as the traffic volume is expected to increase drastically. The streets that will be affected by road linking Safari Hotel is covered by the officers carrying traffic regulations at the adjacent intersections, namely:
- In western Bypass to the Southern side
- Frank Fredrick street
- Along Mandume Ndemufayo
- Sean McBride
Most important and critical to note, motorist should try by all means to avoid Auas road and if approaching the City from the Southern direction rather to divert to Western Bypass. If you don’t have business within the immediate surrounding of Safari Hotel or perhaps the nearby business, it’s advisable, rather to use alternative routes. Those who intent to visit Safari hotel for different reason must make sure they get there well in advance. From 07:00 there will be high delegate level arriving and this will result in heavy traffic activities, which will involve closing down of specific roads. The general traffic flow in some parts of the roads will only be directed by officers as temporary measure to accompany movements of vehicles.
The Windhoek City Police department does not anticipate to have any road closure, however whenever state motorcade is on the move officers will be regulating the traffic, especially along the roots that will be affected by the movement. Therefore, it will be a temporary diversion, as well as closure of the road until such movement is complete and thereafter the road will be opened. The immediate surrounding of Safari hotel at times will have to accommodate vehicle as they enter and exit from Safari Hotel.
The golden rule will apply, whenever an emergency vehicle will approach from wherever direction when you are sharing the road with it. You will hear a siren as a pre-warning, you will also see indicating warning lamps. What is expected is to give immediate right of way, pull of the road if it’s safe to do so. If the road has multiple lane, move to the far-left lane and stop.
If there is traffic regulation please comply, especially in the presence of police or traffic officer. If you are required to stop, stop, if you are required to divert, divert in a different direction. It’s against this background, the department of City Police look forwards to all motorist full cooperation’s.
