immer mal wieder kommt das Thema auf, was es denn so für Strafen gibt, wenn man z.B. in Etosha aus dem Auto aussteigt, oder vielleicht nicht bis Toreschluss im Camp ist etc. Hierzu hat sich das MET aktuell geäußert.

The Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) warned that it will not be accountable for lives lost owing to disregard of national park safety rules.
In an interview with Nampa on Wednesday, the ministry’s spokesperson, Romeo Muyunda said the ministry will not be liable for people attacked by wild animals due to indifference to safety rules within national parks.
Muyunda singled out tourists who ignore safety signs showing that people should not get out of their vehicles when viewing animals or taking pictures as they can be attacked in the process.
“As a ministry, we want tourists to enjoy their Namibian experience without having us present at their side at all times,” he said.
Muyunda said it is a concern and challenge for the ministry to ensure that tourists obey and observe the safety rules as stipulated in national parks.
He noted that at every park entrance, tourists are briefed on the safety instructions designed for parks and its significance, adding that safety signboards are displayed throughout the parks as well.
He said tourists who do not adhere to the safety rules and are caught will be fined between N.dollars 1 300 to over N.dollars 3 000.
Muyunda added that the ministry is appealing to “anyone who comes across deviant behaviour in the parks to report it to the nearest park office or management, so that action can be taken against such deeds”.
