Bei der Who-to-Support-List geht es nicht um Sponsoren für den World Lion Day, sondern um Organisationen, die man unterstützen soll/kann, wenn man etwas für den Arterhalt der Löwen tun möchte. Ich habe die Organisatoren mal angeschrieben und darauf hingewiesen, dass Alert meines Erachtens nicht in diese Liste gehört.

We are aware of the articles you have sent us however these are based upon opinion rather than fact in regards to ALERT and Lion Encounter.
Although controversial ALERT are undertaking some fantastic work, one such project being their rehabilitation and release into the wild program in which Lion Encounters supports.
There is a commercial aspect to this operation yet this commercial funding has allowed ALERT and partners to expand into 16 countries in over 52 projects and employ over 14,000 people. Many simply believe they are a walking with lion facility and nothing more with no conservation value when in fact it is quite the opposite.
We thank you for your concerns, it is so important to discuss, debate and question. However we advise you to familiarise yourself with ALERT first hand here: www.lionalert.org rather than base judgement on others opinions.
Many of the other projects we have listed also receive criticism for their methods. However we believe there is not one single effort/method/idea that will single handedly save the lion. There must be unity and a holistic approach must be adopted.

Ein Pluspunkt gibt es dafür, dass die schnell und recht ausführlich geantwortet haben. Absatz 2 klingt ansonsten gut, nur haben die in 9 Jahren seit Gründung wahrscheinlich zig Löwen durch Lion Walking versaut, die eben keine Waisen o.ä. Notfälle waren, sondern gezielt für Lion Walks gezüchtet wurden. In der selben Zeit haben die aber keinen einzigen Löwen ausgewildert. In "Stage 2" ihres Programmes haben sie wohl bislang 3 Rudel in jeweils 1-2 km² große eingezäunte Gehege entlassen, aber das kann man wohl nicht auswildern nennen.
