GSM

Hallo to all,
I wonder if i can use my cellphone in Namibia (prepay, Vodaphone). does anybody know? (local emergency calls, sms..?)

Hello Marieke,

I used my prepaid mobile phone (D2) once to send an sms and it reached Germany. I don't know about calls in Namibia or to other countries.

The most problem you can run in are that your local provider doesn't support roaming on prepaid cards.
In that case get a namibian one.

We're back now... unfortunately and this country (holland) is so much more crowded than when i left for Namibia!.....
Exept for Etosha, i could use my cellphone (Vodaphone-prepaid) allmost everywhere to sent sms. so that was a nice surprise. it's still a miracle, "chatting" from the desert with my aunt in this water county..
