"The Savuti channel started to dry-up in the late ‘70’s and stopped flowing in 1982. Botswana has been experiencing higher than normal floods and good rains in recent times. This has resulted in the channel beginning to flow again. The head of the water is still about 8 kilometres from the marsh and it is likely that it will reach the marsh early next year".
