Tag 02 Kampala - Murchison Falls NP (311 km / 5 Std)
Fahrt zum Murchison Falls Nationalpark. Unterwegs Möglichkeit zum optionalen Besuch des Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Direkt nach Einfahrt in den Nationalpark, vorbei am Flachlandregenwald geht es aufwärts und über einen Seitenhügel des Great Rift Valley abwärts in das Niltal und der dort befindlichen weiten Savanne.
Halt an dem Gipfel der berühmten Murchison Fälle, wo der Nil auf seiner ganzen Breite 6 Meter über Stromschnellen abfällt, bevor er wieder in einen ruhigeren Fluss gerät. Die Übernachtung erfolgt in der Nähe des Nils, wo man den aufregenden Geräuschen lachender Hyänen, brüllender Löwen und grunzender Flusspferde lauschen können.

Tag 03 Murchison Falls NP
Am frühen Morgen Pirschfahrt. Umgeben von Elefanten, Giraffen, Löwen, Leoparden, Büffel, Warzenschweine und Paviane. Am späten Nachmittag Bootsfahrt, Fluss aufwärts zum Punkt am Fuße des Wasserfalls. Dazu meine Fragen:
a) Tour machbar? - sind die Lodges empfehlenswert? - ich habe ein paar preiswertere Lodges dabei und dann zwischendurch auch mal Verwöhnprogramm..
b) machbar, wenn man alles selber bucht und dazu ein Auto mit Fahrer mietet?
c) gibt es einen guten Anbieter, der mir diese Tour auch genau so buchen könnte

Was würdet Ihr machen? Am liebsten wäre mir selber organisieren u. Fahrer anheuern, jedoch bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob das die beste/preisgünstigste Lösung ist.
Tourgruppe ist nix für uns - möchtne die Tour alleine machen und mir auch die Unterkünfte selber aussuchen..

Ist in weiten Teilen identisch mit unserer Reise Anfang dieses Jahres. Wir haben allerdings gecampt, so dass diese Aussage für die Strecke und nicht für die Unterkünfte gilt. Sollte also passen. Tag 5 und 6 verstehe ich anhand der Beschreibung allerdings nicht.

Zur Frage, was wir (ich) machen würde: Die Strecke selbst fahren.

Ansonsten ist die Anfrage halt etwas zu pauschal um darauf zu antworten. Auf konkrete Fragen kann man besser antworten.

Tag 5/6 ist für die Fahrt u. Ausspannen gedacht..ansonsten wollen wir nicht allzu viel machen ausser die Lodge u. den Pool geniessen. Die Tourprogramme sind meiner Meinung nach recht stramm ausgelegt..daher mal einen Nachmittag nix tun, würde uns gut tun.

Day 1
Flight with Brussels Airways to Entebbe: Pick up by driver and drive to Airport Guesthouse Entebbe for overnight.

Day 2:
Early morning after breakfast you will leave for Murchison Falls. Stop at Rhino Sanctuary - Via Masindi we drive for 90 kms through the park before we reach Paraa in the late afternoon. Here we will stay and with a cool drink and a fabulous view over the river Nile the evening will come with all the noise of an African night.

Day 3:
This day early in the morning we go for the game drive after crossing the Nile, special are here the lions and giraffes. In the afternoon we have the impressive launch trip on the Nile to the Falls. Hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and many birds will be seen!!

Day 4:
Early morning the boat will take us downstream to the delta. The place where the Nile enters Lake Albert. This trip of 5-6 hours will show us all the beauty of this national park especially the delta with all the different birds. Here is a good chance to see the elusive Shoebill stork! In the afternoon is a visit to the top of the Falls, a wonderful view.

Day 5
Early morning departure for the journey to Kibale Forest. We will pass close to Lake Albert, on a clear day the view from the top of the Albert rift is spectacular. In the afternoon we will arrive at Kibale Forest Camp, sleeping with the noises of the tropical rainforest.

Day 6:
At 08.00 we will start with the 4 hours chimp walk. Also 10 other primates can be seen!! The park is also known for all the butterflies and birds. In the afternoon a walk through Bigodi Swamp (community based project)

At 10.00 have a relaxed treck through the forest, then drive to Ndali Lodge for a leasure afternoon at the pool.

Day 8:
Early morning departure for Queen Elizabeth. Via Fort Portal we reach at around midday in Bush Lodge/Mweya Lodge in Queen Elizabeth NP with a stunningly beautiful view over Kazinga Channel. In the late afternoon we will make a game drive.

Day 9:
This day is for a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth with thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants etc. Also on the program is a two hours launch trip on the Kazinga channel where we will see all the animals from the waterside.

Day 10:
Our second day in this beautiful park. Very early in the morning breakfast we go to Kyambura Gorge. Here you can go for a 3-4 hour walk in to the Gorge for meeting the chimpanzees. After the Gorge will drive to Ishasha Sector and have an evening gamedrive in search of the tree climbing lions.

Day 11:
In the morning we leave Queen for Kisoro. We stop in Kabale for Lunch. The bad road takes us through a beautiful landscape called the "Switzerland of Africa". We pass mountains, hills and lakes with cultivated terraces and tropical rainforest and bamboo forest. On the last hill the landscape unfolds beneath us, in the vast plane of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo the Virunga volcanoes dominate the view. Down is Kisoro where we will stay in the famous Travellers Rest Hotel. Just outside Kisoro, this unique hotel offers a cozy stay for the tourists, who come to see the endangered mountain gorilla. The hotel, built in a somewhat colonial style, and entirely renovated in 1999, has a comfortable ambiance. In the sixties the famous American 'gorilla-woman' Dian Fossey visited Hotel Travellers Rest many, many times to do paperwork, to relax or to meet people. Fossey said about the hotel: ,,It was my second home."

Day 12:
The day is for Gorilla tracking, From Travellers Rest in Kisoro it is 1 hour by car to Nshongi/Nkuringo group in South Bwindi. At 7:45 A:M you will be at the starting point of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for pre-briefing and at 8:30 you will start the trek, after finding the Gorillas you will spend with maximum 1 hour. All visitors are expected back to the starting point by 7:00 P:M. the walks can take 3-9 hours depending on where you find the Gorillas. It is a real hiking and being physically fit is recommend

Day 13:
After breakfast we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi beautiful surrounded by the hills of Western Uganda. For people who like to walk, the last 14 km is a stunning beautiful walk along the lakeshore and above on the hills. Lake Bunyonyi is famous for birds, otters and delicious crayfish. We will stay the rest of the day here, it is possible to swim and try a canoe. Seated on the veranda more than 300 birds species can be seen (bring your binoculars)

Day 14:
Early morning departure to Lake Mburo. This is a small but nice park, the only park in Western Uganda with impalas and zebras. We will make an evening game-drive.

In the morning we will make a game drive/walk. After a late breakfast the last part of the journey will bring us back to Kampala. We will stop in Mbarara for Lunch and then continue, after Masaka town we will stop at the Equator for Tea/Coffee break and buying souvenirs. Back to the airport for an evening flight back.

Zum heutigen Kurs (Oanda) wäre das dann:3340 CHF/2770 Euro exklusive Gorilla permit..mhh, ganz ne Stange teuer das Ganze..
Mal schauen..was die Variante Lodge selber buchen u. Fahrer mit Auto hergibt.

Gorilla-Trekking zu den Gruppen bei Nkuringo aus ist deutlich anstrengender als von den anderen Startpunkten. Wenn Ihr fit seit, sicherlich kein Problem. Ansonsten solltet Ihr Euch einen anderen Startpunkt suchen.

Auch finde ich es umständlich, in Kisoro zu übernachten, anstatt direkt in einem der Startorte. Ist unnötige Fahrerei am Trekking-Tag und Ihr müsst sehr früh los.
