Update On Kruger National Park Roads
Kruger National Park (KNP) Management has received a report from the roads and Technical Services department, on the state of the roads that were closed off, due to heavy rain.
The team has opened most of the gravel roads as the weather condition has improved. The main road between Skukuza and Lower Sabie was partly washed away; therefore, Lower Sabie can be accessed via Tshokwane (H10) if coming from Skukuza. In Tshokwane, all gravel roads have been opened except S33 as the water along the causeway is still high and will only be opened once the water has subsided. Sand and Sabie Low level bridges have been cleared of debris and are passable. The road between Skukuza and Satara is also open.
Talamati Bush Camp, which was closed off, will only receive guests from today, 17 January 2025. Balule Camp is at this stage only accessible via the Olifants River highwater bridge, from the south. The Olifants River low-water bridge is still inaccessible. All other Bushveld Camps are accessible.
Rains have stopped for now, but the disaster management team will continue to monitor and act swiftly if the situation changes. Tourists and drivers are urged to continue being vigilant on the gravel roads and when crossing low level bridges.
Tourists with confirmed bookings for the various camps should check with reservations on accessibility or call 013 735 4325.
