Hallo,
Wolfgang

Kruger National Park back to normal after floods

Date: 19th March 2014

The Kruger National Park (KNP), like most of the Mpumalanga Province, experienced a lot of rain in the past two weeks which resulted in the facilities being closed for safety reasons, when rivers started overflowing and dams got filled to capacity.

Acting Head of Communications, Reynold Thakhuli said all facilities that had been closed were now operational, except the S64 road from Punda Maria to Thulamela in the north of the park, the Wolhuter Trails camp and the Boesman Trails camp. “All the bush camps, walking trails, picnic spots and gravel roads are deemed safe enough to be used by our clients. We are happy to be able to welcome them back “said Thakhuli.

The reopened bush camps are Talamati, Biyamiti, Sirheni, Shimuwini, Balule and Bateleur. The trails camps are Olifants and Nyalalaland.

All gravel roads in the KNP have been deemed safe and have also been reopened. All the clients who had cancellations need to reconfirm with our Reservations department on Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! Zur Anzeige muss JavaScript eingeschaltet sein! or 012 428 9111.
