ich habe Dir den Reisebericht unten hin kopiert. Es stimmt, es ist dort etwas schwer zu finden. Aber falls Du generell noch etwas auf mozguide.com suchen möchtest, hier ist die Vorgehensweise: Auf der Startseite befindet sich ein gelber Balken \"The Ask Mike Challenge\", dort auf \"link\" klicken. Dann unter \"General\" auf \"Ask Mike\". Dort sind alle Postings und ihr könnt dort auch an \"Mike\" schreiben. Er antwortet in der Regel sehr schnell und hat sehr gute Informationen (vor allem, wie es aktuell aussieht).
Zu Deinen Fragen:
(1) Treibstoff: Wir haben in Pafuri vollgetankt (140 L) und sind dann bis Vilankulos ohne Tanken gekommen. Wir hätten noch 40 L in Reserve gehabt, die wir aber nicht benötigt hatten. Die Strecke war bei uns sehr trocken und nur kurze Abschnitte waren tiefsandig. Weshalb der Verbrauch auch ok war (Toyota Hilux). Die Verhältnisse sollten für Euch vermutlich ja auch ähnlich sein. Die Strecke war relativ leicht zu finden. Immer wieder waren Schilder nach Vilankulos zu finden und soweit ich mich erinnern kann, standen an diesen Positionen auch Schilder in die andere Richtung (nach Pafuri).
(2) Strecke: soweit ich mich richtig erinnere, waren es knapp unter 600 km
(3) wir haben in Machailla übernachtet, nachdem wir dort mit \"Händen und Füssen\" \"gefragt\" haben, ob wir übernachten dürfen. es war ein sehr nette Situation. sehr sehr freundliche Leute, wir haben dann mit einem Sack Reis \"bezahlt\" und sie haben sich sehr gefreut. es war für uns ein einmaliges Erlebnis, diese Herzlichkeit der Menschen erfahren zu haben.
Die Strecke an sich: sehr abwechslungsreich! traumhafte Landschaft; immer wieder kleine Dörfer; fahrtechnisch eigentlich keine Probleme; ein paar Tiefsand und 4x4 Passagen; genug Bodenfreiheit aber von Vorteil! Limpopo Durchfahrt: dort kommen ein paar Jungs aus dem Busch gesprungen und zeigen Euch den Weg; das Trinkgeld ist es auf jeden Fall Wert!

Pretoria – car rental (Name der Firma von Admin gelöscht) - a very “practical” and well serviced car at a very good price! the equipment includes all necessary things - EN1 via Belfast, Lydenburg to Graskop; campsite: Panorama Camping
Day 2, Tuesday, 19th
Great Breakfast at “Silverspoon”; Blyde River Canyon; Krueger N.P Entrance at Orpen Gate. overnight at Maroela.
Day 3 , Wednesday, 20th
Maroela – Lower Sabie
Day 4, Thursday, 21st

Day 5, Friday, 22nd
Lower Sabie – Olifants; overnight at Balule Camp
Day 6, Saturday 23rd
Balule – Punda Maria

Punda Maria – Pafuri – Mapai – Machailla
We left Punda Maria with very full tanks (140 l + 40 l extra) and 40 l drinkable water at 6.20AM. Boarder post at Pafuri (8.00 AM). No complications at South African and Mozambique part of Boarder (payments: 22 Rand by entrance in Moz.) We left the boarder post at about 8.45 AM. On Gravel Road to Mapai, Limpopo Crossing at low water level (1.30 PM) without any troubles – using of 4x4 just for safety reasons; Railway crossing; long and very beautiful drive to Machailla (5.00 PM); we asked the “village chief” for overnight and had a great night in our roof top tent under an unforgettable African starry sky.
Day 8, Monday 25th
Machailla – Mabote – Vilanculos
Leaving Machailla at 6.00 AM – road now smaller and partly deep sand (some 4x4 parts) – 175 km, 5h30min to Mabote – very nice!! further on gravel road with dangerous potholes to Mapinhane (110 km, 2h30min); on very new tar road to Vilanculos (40min). Overnight at Baobab Beach Camp.
Day 9, Tuesday 26th

Campsite “Blue Water Beach Resort” – We will recommend this place very much; shadow spending trees and great overview to the ocean, very friendly staff.
Day 10, Wednesday 27th

Vilanculos – Blue Water Beach Resort + Dhow Trip with “Sailaway”
Day 12, Friday 29th
Vilanculos – Maxixe (4h, partly dangerous potholes; Snack at “Stopp Café”) – Inhambane – Tofo; We didn´t found a nice campsite there, so we decided to go to Paindane Beach Resort: 26 km, partly deep sand and beautiful landscape on the way to the resort; but in case of low season no diving possible at Paindane. The campsite was also not that nice. So we decided to stay overnight and leaving in the morning.
Day 13 – Day 20, Saturday 30th - Saturday 7th
Inhambane – Ponta da Barra
Palmgrove Lodge: We rent a Casita; A very nice place to have some lazy days with great dive spots (Manta Rays, ….)! We will very recommend the guys there and at Barra Reef Divers.
Day 21, Sunday 8th
Inhambane – Xai Xai – Maputo – Swaziland (Hlane Royal N.P.); 620 km, 10 hours
