VISITORS ALLOWED TO NECKARTAL DAM DAILY
In order for the public to to visit the Neckartal Dam, the Main Security gate will allow access daily during the following times ONLY:
09h00- 09h15
12h00- 12h15
15h00 - 15h15
INSTRUCTIONS FOR VISITORS TO NECKARTAL DAM
ENTERING
All persons entering via the Security gate will be tested for alcohol. No alcohol is allowed in the vehicle.
No person will be allowed through the main security gate without their Covid facemasks
An indemnity form need to be signed at the entrance gate.
TRAVELLING
The distance of the gravel road from the Security gate to the Main Dam wall is 30 km and the speed limit is 60 km/h. The road is in a poor condition and not suitable for sedan vehicles.
This section of road will take you therefore 30 min at best. It is a gravel road and it is dusty.
No turn –offs from the 30 km of gravel road is allowed. Vehicles should travel straight to main dam wall over the distance of 30 km.
Be careful there are sharp turns which is dangerous as this is not a proclaimed road yet.
ARRIVING
The last section is an uphill concrete section – where-after you will arrive at the main dam site.
At the main dam site, Security guards will show you where to park your vehicle.
VISITING
Access is allowed to the viewpoint just west of where the vehicles park, as well as a section of the top of the dam wall.
There is safety rails which should not be crossed under no circumstances.
Parents should under no circumstances leave their children unattended.
People should wear their face masks at all times.
Security and The Namibian Police will also be on site and ensure that the public adhere to the Covid regulations and arrest any person that cross the safety rails or enter any unauthorised site.
LEAVING
All vehicles should be travel back through the Security main gate.
